Breast Cancer Support Group
Following the success of the second annual Tickled Pink Ball in October where the team managed to raise a fabulous £6,000.00 for charity, it was decided to donate the funds raised to a local good cause to help benefit the women in this community.
Sally got in contact with a local woman named Christine Cotterill from Ednaston, Derbyshire who is the secretary for the Derby Breast Cancer Support Group. Sally had heard about the good work that Christine had done in the past and thought that the money raised would be put to good use through Christine's group. On the first Thursday of every month the group get together for their support meetings and sometimes ask guest speakers along to add something extra to the night. Sally and Tracey Chalmers from the Spa Avalon went along to their January meeting to give talks on colour analysis and make-overs and Sally also presented the cheque for £6,000.00 to the group that evening.
The Derby Telegraph came along to photograph the events and raise awareness of the group and their efforts and support. The Group was delighted with the donation and it has already been put towards a new piece of vital recovery equipment for a local hospital along with another donation by Christine herself and her own wonderful and generous fund raising efforts.
A fantastic combined total amount of £7,237.00 will go along way to a very good cause!
